The Great Canadian Giving Challenge

We hope everyone is keeping well and safe during these difficult times.
Today, June 1st, would have been our first day of rehearsals for our 2020 summer season. We were hoping to present The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie and The Trip to Bountiful by Horton Foote this summer at our theatre in North Rustico but unfortunately these productions will have to wait for another time.
After 5 years leading the Watermark, it saddens us that we will not be able to welcome our audience members to the theatre this summer. We won’t be able to present our wonderful classic plays to you; or allow you to share a laugh with your friends and neighbours; or provoke discussion and debate stirred from the minds of great playwrights; or allow us to congregate as a community and experience a live event together.

Even though our summer season has been cancelled, we need your help this year even more than ever. Every June we participate in a fundraising event hosted by Canada Helps called The Great Canadian Giving Challenge to raise funds for our theatre.
As part of The Great Canadian Giving Challenge, every $1 donated to our theatre by an individual in the month of June is an automatic entry for a chance for Watermark to win a $20,000 donation from Canada Helps. The grand prize draw is on Canada Day, July 1st.
Your contributions to the theatre over the years, as ticket buyers, donors, and volunteers, have been extremely important to the success and sustainability of our theatre. If you have the means, please consider making a donation to the theatre this month. Your contribution will help the theatre through this difficult time and ensure that our future is bright.
While mourning the 2020 summer season, we are also looking excitedly to the future when we can once again welcome you to our theatre. This pause in theatre making is allowing us to reflect and plan and dream about what delights we can present to you in 2021. Rest assured that we will definitely be back very soon and better than ever!
