La Watermark Gallery est une galerie d’art qui présente des œuvres originales d’artistes de la région. Cet été, l’art du Katharine Dagg.

Katharine Dagg graduated from the University of Manitoba with a BFA, majoring in drawing and painting and minoring in ceramics. She spent the first 30 years of her artistic career as a potter before transitioning back to painting. Katharine worked as an Arts and Crafts Officer for the Government of the Northwest Territories, and in Ottawa for the Canadian Arctic Producers. Katharine came to PEI in 1974 to teach design at the Handcraft Training Centre, which later became part of Holland College. In 1977 she went into partnership with Sandi Mahon at Stoneware Pottery.
Katharine is inspired by nature and the human figure, and faces that tell a story. Gardens and the landscape of PEI also continue to inspire her.
“I am mad about colour, there is no room for beige in my life! I can be tempted by heady blossoms gossiping over a fence, or luscious fruits and vegetables overflowing in great crockery – abundance, beauty and colour.” – Katharine Dagg
