A veteran of Canadian Theatre, Mr Deakin has worked from coast to coast and spent 13 seasons at the Stratford Festival in such productions as “The Tempest”, “Julius Caesar”, “Henry V”, “Cymbeline” and “The Odyssey”. He appeared on Broadway with Christopher Plummer in “King Lear” at the Lincoln Centre, and Off Broadway at City Centre in “Much Ado About Nothing” and “The Miser”. Most recent credits include Winston Churchill in “The Audience” (Theatre Calgary); Falstaff in “Merry Wives of Windsor” (TBTB); Edna Turnblad in “Hairspray” (Drayton); Inspector Closely in “The Last Resort” (Globe & Charlottetown Festival); Mr. Maraczek in “She Loves Me” (Rose Theatre) and the Narrator in “Into The Woods” (TIP). Film and TV credits include Private Eyes (Global); Hemlock Grove (Netflix); Man Seeking Woman (FXX); The Listener ( CTV) and Assassin’s Creed/Syndicate (UBISOFT).
This year Mr. Deakin celebrates 45 years as a member of Canadian Actors Equity, and 45 years of marriage to his wife Bonnie, costume designer and head of wardrobe at the Charlottetown Festival.
